POWERPLAY: NY Stomp – NY House Trak (Illusion)
The third release on Illusion Recordings is an absolute stomper from the appropriately titled NY Stomp, aka Gerd of 4Lux / Clone. ´Can You Feel It? EP’, inspired by Gerd´s love of old US house and his trips to play in the Big Apple over the years is a homage to the raw New York / New Jersey early house sound of the early 90s.
On the A-side of the vinyl ´The NY House Trak´ is a classic dance floor killer and a highly anticipated release after causing mass destruction over the last year. Giving a firm nod to the likes of Todd Terry and Kenny Dope, the track embraces the raw elements and groove of a classic sounding NY joint, whilst keeping the sound fresh and contemporary.

POWERPLAY: Storm Queen Feat. Damon C. Scott – It Goes On (Vox) (Environ)
Metro Area man Morgan Geist will follow up his 2010 Storm Queen hit “Look Right Through” with a second single featuring the vocalist Damon C. Scott.
“Look Right Through” quickly became a ubiquitous presence on discerning dancefloors upon its release in late 2010, featuring prominently in many a Best Of 2010 list. In 2011 it was subsequently picked up by commercial clubbing juggernaut Defected for re-release.
The Storm Queen alias was described by the Environ Records boss as an opportunity to revisit analogue production methods and fully utlilise the unique vocal talents of Scott, a New York busker who Geist discovered singing on the subway.
