Kevin Sunray – Tribal Orgy (f/c Prog City)
This productions called exactly as what it is - orgy of tribal house. Girls moaning, great rhythm section, full of energy. This reminds of Amsterdam club nights in mid-90's or late night sessions in New York.

09/09/2005

Ananda Project – Shouldn’t Have Left Me (Morel’s Pink Noise Vocal Mix) (f/c King Street)

12/08/2005

Paul Van Dyk feat Wayne Jackson – The Other Side (Deep Dish Other Than This Side Mix) (CDR)
It's not that kind of music what Paul Van Dyk doing that we like in the show, but in the hands of Deep Dish his new single "The Other Side" sounds less trancy, but more progressiva and massive and epic. It sounds better than original in our opinion.

05/08/2005

Morillo feat Leslie Carter – Waiting In The Darkness (Tonka’s Even Darker Club Mix) (Subliminal)
Everyone was suprised to hear such a remix from DJ Tonka, but it is very cool and electric indeed. The double single packed with really fantastic remixes - we like H.C.C.R and Superchumbo remixes as well. But this one is the best on the dancefloors.

Mateo & Matos – Akara (Lorenz Rhode Mix) (Prog City Deep)
The sound of Mateo & Matos is quite similar to what they were doing for the past years, but anyway it is great to hear their new two singles of the African Vibes series. Prog City Deep packed "Akara" (and "Hey Zulu" the second single) with tuff remixes, and one of the is made by Lorenz Rhode. This is very universal, and fits any funky, electro or uplifting set.

20/05/2005

Different side of Joey Negro is this track. Many says, that "Scattering Stars" sounds a bit like Sydenham & Ferrer's "Sandcastles", but this is much optimistic and energetic indeed.

Magik Johnson feat Sandy Mill – Follow The Groove (Original Mix) (NRK)
Dick 'Magik' Johnson of the legendary Shaboom just released his debut solo album "Cardboard Journey". This is the first track from the CD and the nest single to be released from LP. The chunky vocal house cut featuring the voice of Sandy Mill (the vocalist on previous single ‘Feel Alright’) gets remixed by Germany’s Ian Pooley, who turns in a spectacular cosmic house mix with shades of Fingers Inc. ‘Stars’ in there. Pooley’s mix is backed with a brand new mix from Magik J himself who opts for a more darker and electro edged mix.

06/05/2005

01/04/2005

Copyright feat Immani – Time (Main Mix) (Defected)
The Copyright production group teams up with Imaani again. We still remember their fine collaboration "Running Away", that we powerplayed last spring. New song is very catchy produciton with fantastic "back in time" dub mix, that has that cool house-groove of 1990s.

This is a production of veteran Mark Headfild, who used to tour with The Prodigy in 90s. He produced records under the names Lucid & Lovebugz. Now it's time for another instant anthem, based on samples of ELO track "Shine A Little Love" from 1979. We also love Pete Heller Remix of "Shine" very much.

Simon Aston feat Laura Vane – Can I Get (Mainline Vocal Mix) (Device)

Under the moniker Arcade Mode we found German producer Manuel Tur, who's record wqe played last year as well. This is a record on the cutting edge between house and progressive. Pure energy!

THE POWERPLAY OF THE YEAR 2004
Maskio – Pelota (Mantra Smiles)

Twisted Funk – Give Me Love (Kinky Vinyl)
Our powerplay for Christmas time is funny and twisted record, and actually name of the project is the best description of the style of track. It's definitely twisted and disco indeed.

Carl Kennedy – The Love You Bring Me (Hardsoul Remix) (Stealth Records)
Roger Sanchez is getting bigger and bigger with his recent label Stealth Records.

Blaze featuring Barbara Tucker – Most Precious Love (Future 3000 Vocal Mix) (King Street)
This soulful gem with traditions of gospel vocals is already a big anthem on the other side of the Atlantic. King Street bringing us Blaze and diva Barabara Tucker back, while Dennis Ferrer provides the groove. Forthcoming on Defected in Europe!

Spiritual South – Green Gold (Afro Art)
Even we try to play only the newest music, sometimes we powerplay quite old tunes, as this one. The track firstly were played by DJ Dmi3 in the show few months ago, and appeared on Afro Art records earlier this year. Now UK's label released a compilation "This Is Afro Art!", covering the two years of work. And this record is one of the collection diamonds. The record of the year in Gilles Peterson show in the UK as well.

Soul Central - Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own) (Defected)
This was pretty hard decision for Defected Records to put vocals to such a classic as "Strings Of Life"  is. But we have very rare example when vocal version sounds even better, than instrumental original. We love Katy Brown on vocals in this people pleaser of 2004.

Bobby & Steve feat B.Tucker & B.Chambers – Deeper In Love (Zoo Groove)
Looks this song has the same destiny as one of their prevoius anthems - everybody liked it, but nobody wanted to release. Now brothers have launched their label again, so here's latest release, fantastic song with two strong vocalists Barbara Tucker and Brian Chambers. Even it has been flowing around for already half a year, we love this song and made it our powerplay.

Lee Cabrera – To The Top (Original Mix) (White)
Next to "Shake It" real anthem from the production duo Albert Cabrera and Steven Lee. Supposed to be as massive as their first tune.

Bongoloverz feat An-Tonic – Power Of Music (Dub) (Soulfuric Trax)
House music loves to talk about itself - this track from German producers is a good example of that kind praise music. Massive soulful house with Chicago native vocalist.

Paul Davis – Contact (Ku Da Ta)
Paul Davis from Circulation played already in Lithuania, but here's his solo production as a first release on the new label Ku Da Ta. Listening to "Contact" we imagine human clubbers partying with green man from space.

Alex Neri & Federico Locchi – Aurora (Dub) (Tenax)
Even we try to concantrate of soulful house music, we also play some outstanding house tracks, that could be defined as a progressive or even electroclash. This on comes form the Italian classic producer Alex Neri, that is also known for the recently successful Planet Funk project. Pure energy!

Rocco feat Nicinha – My Dream (Sueno Soul Vocal Mix) (f/c BS Traxx)
This will be the first release on a new soulful house label in France - BS Traxx. One of members of highly acclaimed Rodamaal project - Rocco wrote a song with vocalist Nicinha. It is perfect tune for autumn - a bit blue, but still optimistic.

Sweden's finest house producer and dj comes with the first release on his own label Nero Music. Pure quality! Now this track is getting full release on Joia Record is Sweden.

DJ Pierre & Marshall Jefferson – Clap Your Hands (Solsonic 2004 Re-Styling) (Essence)
Matteo Esse doing a remix his style - garagee, classic and funky!

Poker Pets – Lovin You (ATFC Remix) (Nocturnal Groove)
Since Nocturnal Groove, nominated for being a Breakthrough label of the year for House Music Awards, pressed a thousand promos few months ago, lucky dj's, who had a copy, played this to death on Ibiza. We love this groove-house remix by Audin The Funky Chile!

Deep Dish – Flashdance (Raul Rincon Remix) (Positiva)
Even our point of view to this song could be fairly unpopular, it sounds annoying. But we like very much this Raul Rincon remix, that has fantastic groovy bass-line and made with 4/4 house rules.

Jose Nunez – Bilingual (Dirty Mix) (Subliminal)
Subliminal Records has already put out it's 100th release, and for the past few years was actively looking for a new style as we think. By the end of 2003 they found it: we powerplayed 2004 remix of "Dancing" as a tune of the year. Now Jose Nunez comes with another quite deep, but energetic tune. It probably shows the sound and idea of the centruty: bilingialuty in music, English with Spanish in this case.

Louie Vega feat Anane - Mozalounge (Jazz-n-Groove Dub) (Vega)
If you're not attending the annual Miami Winter Music Conference, then you don't have such a brilliant records like this one until it get released. It was beautiful when released originally on Vega Records, Jazz-n-Groove now are back with groovy mixes for real pleasure on soulful dancefloors.

Paul Johnson - She Got Me On (Yellow)
Paul Johnson form Southside of Chicago is back with another dancefloor anthem. We call this 'child house': very naive, but cool indeed.

Full Intention feat Xavier - It Hurts Me (f/c DTension)
Full Intention has relaunched their label Dtension this summer, and one of the first releases after the break is this double A-Side. Recorded with vocalist Xavier, "It Hurts Me" is a soulful gem: it makes you sing along and even learn it's lirycs, so this perfectly feeds your soul and gives you opportunity to dance with track as well on every dancefloor.

Beroshima - Acid Las Vegas (Muller)

Aston Martinez - Seduction (Climax Dub) (Defected)
There's always a latin anthem every Summer, this production could be the one for 2004. Sexxy female spoken vocal is one of the reasons why dub was called Climax!
D’Stephanie feat Melissa - Too Good To Be True (Soul Avengerz Remix) (Realbasic)
The Relabasic records was launched in the year 2002 by three Germans: Sebastian Krieg,
Christian (C Willy) Waitzinger and Sascha Bickel. This is label's eight release with voice of wonderful Melissa Anckaert. We love uplifting disco mix by Soul Avengerz, our persons of the soulful summer.
Mista D vs Sneak - Mr. Dobilina (Leg)
The story of funky tracks, that used samples or themes from 80's classic records continues. This time DJ Sneak and Mista D were inspired by "Mr. Bob Dobilina" of Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. If Mista D's version is less filled with sounds, Sneak's mix is soooo groovy and funky - we just can't stand still.
Sharpside - Belgian Resistance (The Idiots Dry Nuts Remix) (Renaissance)
This is a classic production by the project, behind which stands one of the man of the moment - Kid Creme. The remix of this instant classic made guys, who played in Baltic States (in Lithuania actually) Omid 16B and Desyn Masielo.
Starsailor - Four To The Floor (Thin White Duke Remix) (EMI)
Planet Funk proved us how good rock-music could sounds as electronic dance. Here's another example of fantastic song get remixed for dancefloors.
Sandy Rivera - Dreams (Chus & Ceballos Club Mix) (Defected)
Once again this wonderful tune from Sandy Rivera, where he used Duke Ellington's theme "Caravan" is powerplay in the show, but this time touched by two Spanish supremos Chus & Ceballos.
UJ Project feat Lucie Cunnigham - You Are My Everything (Duff Note)
The first offering of Richard Earnshaw's label Duff Note this year was played a lot by ourselves in the show, that is still our big favourite. New release on Duff Note comes from UJ Project and reminds us of two previous summers hits made by Axwell under his Mambana moniker "No Reason" and "Libre". So this would be a hit in a shape of Axwell's songs.
Eric Kupper presents Organika - Cuchifritos (Wave)
New track coming from classic and verrrry talanted multi-instrumentalist Eric Kupper, who has written/produced/remixed over 1,000 records for past decade. Just epic and gorgeous.
Kid Crème feat Shurakano - Doing My Own Thing (Illegal Beats)
Kid Creme along his partner in crime Junior Jack both have their own Belgian style, like French producers had the late 90's. Another major anthem for this summer, second one after "Lola's Theme" by Shapeshifters, that appeared in Miami earlier this year.
Neruda - West Ghost (A Brand New Sofa Mix) (Bustin Loose)
This track was powerplayed by mr. Pete Tong in his show, we are no exeption - this is awesome house production.
Miguel Migs feat Li’sha - Do It For You (Original Vocal) (Salted Music)
The first release of new San-Francisco label Salted Music, runned by mr Miguel Migs himself. Vocals on this soulful dee gem performed by Lisa Shaw. We feel this!
Bobby Blanco & Miki Moto - 3AM (Defected)
Based on original production by DC Lareux "Cathedrals" this funky work-out gained a lot of positive emotions and feedback at this year's Winter Music Conference in Miami.
S.U.M.O - Supra Sumo (Live Bounce) (Soulfuric Trax)
People at Soulfuric definitely knows, what is pure quality of soulful house music. They delivers brand new production from Swedish project S.U.M.O, who last week hosted club GRavity in Vilnius. Supra Sumo has a warm summer vibe with a smouldering spoken vocal and a hook that you'll be singing or humming for some time to come. Combined with guitars, horns and funky beats the result is a rather infectious groove.
The Crumpsters - Burning Up (Layla) (Cramp Daddy Mix) (Subliminal)
We feel, that this track is the first really good release of Subliminal Records in recent times. Groovy house record, that reminds us of the mid-90's house music movement.
Natural Rhythm - Freak FM (Kevin Surray remix) (Blockead)
Housy powerplay from the show hosted by DJ Dmi3.
Groove Junkies pres Diva 2 Diva - Didn’t I Bring You Love (Richard Earnshaw Vocal Mix) (More House)
The latest original offering from Groove Junkies pairs Diane Carter with More House labelmate Indeya in a scandalous love triangle scenario that showcases their extraordinary talent.
Knee Deep - Pastime Paradise (White Label)
Very cool new production from these German producers, who used Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise" theme in this.
Cerrone feat Jocelyn Brown - Hooked On You (Jamie Lewis Remix) (Purple Music)
20 years old classic get remixed by the finest Switzerland's soulful house man Jamie Lewis. He made this classic even better.

Follow up form Nu Rythmix made in a way, that Julien Jabre's "Elle" was done.
Zoot Woman - Gem (Paper Faces Remix) (Wall Of Sound)
Simon Grey feat Abby Joyce - Prophecy (Purple Music)
Alexkid feat Lissette Alea - Palma (F Communications)
Skylark - That's More Like It (DJ Pierre Mix) (Credence/CDR)
Break Legend - Lychees (Mantra Breaks)
Major Boys feat Kathy Brown - Voodoo Magic (Stealth)
Roger Sanches, who released this song on his Defected' imprint Stealth Records, has pioneered "Voodoo Magic" in Ibiza last summer on his Monday residencies at Pacha. Suitable for big rooms even Kathy Brown performed vocals in her usual ultra-soulful manner. Our big favourite at the moment.
Roland Clark - Resist (Jason Jinxx Club Remix) (Fluential)
As it said on official Defected family web-site, track was made for already 18 months ago and released only now in the UK, not in America. Bitter criticism in text on the track is general feeling of some American producers in the new millenium.
Black Shampoo - Feel The Funk (Eddie Amador’s Fever Pitch Mix 2003) (So True)
We feel this is so true house music. After loving novadays Amador's project Mochico, we now are fans of his mix of classic "Feel The Funk".
Mood 2 Swing - Can't Get Away From You (Rulers Of The Deep Club Mix) (Defected)
It was a classic already in 2003 for soulful heads around the globe, we were glad about Mood II Swing reunification. One of the first 2004 Defected releases brings fantastic remixes of "Can't Get Away From You", and we choose remix made by Estonian stars Rulers Of tHe Deep. It uses original drum and bass line from jack-classic "No Way Back" by Adonis, which we love very much.
Copyright feat Shovell – Bulo (Afro Mix) (Soulfuric Trax)
First powerplay of 2004 comes from UK talents - Copyright, who made unusual production, comparing to their previous tracks. "Bulo" feautures vocal talents of former M-People percussionist Shovell, and is very hot latin-infused records.

THE POWERPLAY OF THE YEAR 2003
Erick Morillo, Jose Nunez & Harry Romero feat Jessica Eve - Dancin' (Subliminal)
Jasper St. Company - He's Alright (Gianni Coletti ‘Housegroovers’ Mix) (Dream Beat)
Jasper St. Company are back with good peace of gospel tip house music. Whithin one weekend it gained a lot of love on the dancefloors in Riga.
Deetron - Miss Suave (Intec)
We kind going mad before the Christmas time, and having very fast and techy powerplays in the show. This one is just wonderful track from Carl Cox' label In-Tec Records.
Man With Guitar - Man With Guitar (Kitsune)
Extremely energetic track.
K.O.T - Thru (Defected)
It's the B-sider of forthcoming on Defected Sandy Rivera's new single, which actually is double A-sider. Of course "Dreams" (used the theme from jazz classic Duke Ellington's "Caravan") is extremely catchy, but "Thru" is that kind of record, that you need to drop in a right time and the right place.
Midi X-Press feat May - Fais Ce Qu’il Te Play (Bini & Martini Club Mix) (Stereo Seven)
Maybe we are a bit alte with this, but even the text on the Bini&Martini reix of that Midi X-Press single is quite cheesy, we like the way it made. B&M delivers their own percussions with the bass, made the main-line.
M-Gee - Can't Let Go (Dub Mix) (Swing City)
The follow up to the first fantastic single by M-Gee. We choose dub mix, which works on dancefloors very well.
Uppfade - Manteca Grooves (Afro Fiesta Mix) (Capital Records)
We launched our Latvian label called Capital Records, and the first release on it will be afro-latin flavoured production of the finest Jelagava's prodeucer Uppfade "Manteca Grooves", that has beaan played for already whole summer and gained positive reactions form clubbers and also some big dj's on this planet.
Julius Papp feat D'Layna - Gotta Keep Movin' (Original Mix) (NeoDisco)
Julius Papp fires up more NeoDisco records pressure on the second offering from his own imprint. Gotta Keep Movin is a slick vocal track with funky synth leads designed to keep you movin. Beau-ti-ful!
Danny Howells feat Erire - Dusk 'Til Dawn (9pm Club Mix) (Hed Kandi/ Yoshitoshi)
Oh, finally we could powerplay this fantastic song coming from one of the most talented dj's and producers on Earth. It appeared in the beginning of 2002 on one of highly acclaimed Hed Kandi compilations only on CD with no plans to be released as a single. Then Shaboom in the UK and Yoshitoshi in America were trying to sign this record. America wins this time, big up Yoshitoshi!
Black Masses - You Know How To Love Me (Lenny Fontana Mix) (Odyssey)
Lenny Fontana delivers another groovy and soulful remix for the contemporary classic project Black Masses. This is follow up to their previous anthem, and as Mr. Fontana told, he was about to provide the same groove and energy as on the prevoius single. We feel that!
Martin Solveig - Rockin Music (Mixture)
We should admit - we just love, what Martin Solveig do in wonderful France. This year he gave us fantastic anthemic remix of Salif Keita "Madan", that still rockes the dancefloors across the Baltic's. Here is his original production, that brings blend of house, electric sounds and good old guitars.
The Latin Project - Lei Lo La (Full Length Album Version) (Electric Monkey)
Usually we choose only one version to be the powerplay in the show. But this record is so fulfilled with latin magic, that this with all the great mixes (M.A.W, Incognito etc) is our record of the week.
Soulground feat Koncha Buika - We Play House (f/c Stereo Cool)
It's time for another house-music anthem for us, here in Dance Box studio. DJ Chus and David Penn worked together again after successful "Baila", this time with female vocalist Koncha Buika, whos mainly spoken vocal is very energetic. It goes "And we play house music, and believe in the house of love, and you dance house music" - it's all about us.
Ritmo Da Rua - Universal Love (Brian Tappert Prime Time Vibe) (Soulfuric Deep)
Ritmo Da Rua's classic "Universal Love" originally came out on the Italian Streetvibes imprint. It instantly became a staple in the sets of deep house dons across the globe. Here Soulfuric's very own Brian Tappert on remix duties providing the perfect blend of Latin house rhythms and soulful jazz.
Dave Storm feat Max C - Lovin U (Vocal Mix) (White Label)
Once again we proud to present production of one of the most creative dj's and composers form the Baltic States. Dave Storm have been our favourite producer for few years already, since he started to release his own tracks and songs. It's another turn of his collaborations with Philadelphian singer Max C (remeber their "Ride"). Flying trupets, groovy rhythm section, touching voice of Max C and lovely lyrics - we just love this epic 10 minutes song. Exclusively for Dance Box in Baltic's.
Kings Of Tomorrow - Dreams (Defected)
What we could say about this new K.O.T. records? It is all about quality, as mr. Sandy Rivera was always delivering. Another record crossing the borders in house music. lovely tune, as well as very mellow b-side "Thru".
Sunset Freakz - Back To The Island (Wyze)
The original company, who runs respected by us label Swing City, putted out on vinyl this fantastic sunset tune, already pionnered by the likes of Brandon Block and Pete Gooding on Ibiza this year. Plus to the uplifting Back To The Island with wonderful breaks in the middle of the track, is flip with rather tasty downtempo variation of this theme "Chill On The Island".
DJ Gregory - Elle (Frankie Feliciano Re-edit) (Defected)
DJ gregoty is our remixer/producer of the moment, during this summer he delivered three powerplays. Two was his remixes, so now time for original production from his French studio. Just C.L.A.S.S.I.C tune!
DJ Pufo - Mon Amor (Device Records)
Soulfuric records in Miami started to distribute this new label on scene, that promise to deliver only the high standart soulful house music. The first release is the best prove of label's direction, excellent summer cut, which suits the main dancefloors, as well as more deeper floors.
Despina Vandi - Gia (DJ Gregory Main Remix) (Mascotte)
French DJ and producer Gregory delivers another tasty remix of Greek theme by despina Vandi. Two months gone since we powerplayed his mix of contemporary classic John Ciafone's "Everyday" - here he comes again with even better percussive and progressive indeed remix of eastern theme (that is so popular these days).
Blaze - We Are One (King Street Sounds)
Last year, when this classic producers of soulful house music released their album "Spiritually Speaking" we had a big favourite "Breathe", which also was powerplayed in the show. Now they bring us the follow-up to "Breathe" - "We Are One". Once again a lot of positivity, fantastic vocals and rich melody.
Double Dee - Shining (Cicada Remix) (Positiva)
Something refreshing for this hot summer in Baltic's... Cicada's mix of we believe Italian production Double Dee, that is above the style of music, it is just good song.
SerJaye - Mahal Kita (Sound Of Soul Remix) (Neat Music)
This week we air tha most beautiful deep-house mix, that we ever heard before compiled and mixed by members of C&M PRoductions. These two guys also has remixed SerJaye's "Mahal Kita" - beautiful song, and made it fulfilled with soul and good for dance floors.
Roy Ayers & Kerri Chandler - Good Vibrations (Kerri’s Mad Mix) (Mad House)
It was released last year already, but this fantastic tune coming again on MadHouse label with the new mixes. We still like Kerri's mad mix, which brings us to the best times of house music, he got the vibe!
Big Bang Theory feat Derek Conyer - Do U Got Funk? (Big Love)
Very own Defected' Seamus Haji returns with his highly acclaimed project Big Bang Theory. This is a follow up to his successful "God's Child", which was released oficially with another vocals, not the same, that appeared on promos. Now Seamus works with Derek Conyer, fantastic vocalist, who already gave us Dance Box' powerplay of 2002 with Denver project. A bit of Subliminal sound, with funky and disco filtered background.
Moloko - Forever More (FKEK Vocal Mix) (Echo)
This is a very tasty combination of original band Moloko, and two remixers/producers Francois Kevorkian (Body&Soul very own) and Erik Kupper - new song with beautiful voice of Roisin Murphy just letting you fly.
Sessomato - I Need Somebody (Joey Negro Vocal Remix) (Azuli)
A bit dark, but still with that disco-feel in Joey Negro style. We think, the soulful house should sound like that novadays.
John Ciafone - Everyday (DJ Gregory’s Mix) (Boombastic)
This record was our favourite for some time, since it came again on Slip'n'Slide records' recent Jazz In The House compilation. DJ Yousef was pioneering Gregory's mix of that on Winter Music Conference already. Combination of hot afro-percussion and strings and melody is just the killer!
Panyard - Can I Get Through (KhaiMar)
The soulful vibe of this record (and of all the songs form KhaiMar family) is definitely our favourite sound of the moment. Fantasticly simple and nice lyrics, good voice arrangement and melody - this, what we call The Real Song.
P.Diddy & Kelis - Let's Get Ill (Deep Dish Vocal Mix) (White Label)
This year before the Miami Winter Music Conference, P. Diddy claimed, that he goes to make very hot house record. Here it goes, made together with Kelis and remixed by very original Deep Dish. We suppose this remix isn't very charcateristic for American duo, but it grooves the dancefloors everywhere.
Mambana - Libre (Axwell Essence Dub) (Soulfuric)
Soulfuric family defenitely is one of our favourite labels in the world, for the 15 years they brings superb soulful sound. Even sometimes records sounds similar, and this Mambana produciton is the exact follow up to previous anthem "No Reason" - we love this mood very much. Axwell's essence dub is a dreamy house record with good portion of vocals.
Roland Clarke pres Urban Soul - President House (Hott 22 Vocal Mix) (King Street)
Roland Clark returns with his project Urban Soul. He delivers fantastic summer anthem with a very tasty refren "If house is a nation, I wanna be president". This is especially relevant to current political situation in America. Both Hott 22 mixes (vocal and dub) gets good responce on the dancefloors.

Denver feat Derek Conyer "Can't Give Up" (Chus & Ceballos Stereo Remix) (Moody)
THE POWERPLAY OF YEAR 2002.

Dino Lenny “Change The World” (Age One)
Italian production, that for us sounds as the follow up to Layo&Bushwacka's "Love Story". Lovely melancholic tune.

Stephanie Cooke “Rain (Let It Fall Down)” (DF’s Rainforce Mix) (King Street)
Fantastic positive song from one of the soulfullest record labels on the planet King Street. Our favourite mix on this record is courtesy of Dennis Ferrer, one of the artist, who's working with Jerome Sydenham - he done fantastic performance in Riga last weekend!

Kiko Navarro feat Concha Buika “Perfect Place (Show Me Love)” (Chus & Penn Stereo Mix) (Flamingo Spain)
Shouts and respect to Stereo Productions team for such a fantastic music, they're releasing! Another production by the team, gaven us such a latin anthems like "Sunshine" - DJ Chus & David Penn. This time they made vocal and darky remix.

Everything But The Girl “Corcovado” (Knee Deep Classic Club Mix) (Virgin)
What can we say about this record - it is classy form the beginning, and has been made a lot of times. New version is courtesy Knee Deep - and in pure Knee Deep style.

Whitney Houston “Whachalookinat” (Full Intention Vocal Mix) (Arista)
There's few artist, who's music is always welcome in the show and you could find their p[roductions almost on every Dance Box mix-compilations. Full Intention on the remix side brings us fun again - their mix of Whithney Houston's "Whachalookinat" is another favourite after remix of Moony's "Dove", which have that copyright FI sound with very fat and groovy bass-line. A gem for uplifting soulful parties!

Andricka Hall “Stay Inside My Life” (Louis Benedetti Original Re-Edit) (Soulshine)
This is A-side from fantastic American Soulshine label, that released two Louis Benedetti mixes of garage songs (second one is by Deep Swing with mighty Xavior). Mr. Benedetti bringing original stateside garage vibe, what we miss in soulful music novadays. We love this jazzy touch! Excellent!

Selective Spirit "Do You Feel Me" (Original Demo) (Subliminal Soul)
We got this track form Dave Strom, Estonian DJ and producer in the beginning of summer, and since that Bogdan have been playing that in almost every of his sets. It always got good responce on the dancefloors. It is the second Dave's collaboration with Charlie (first called "Ride" came out on new Joey Musaphia's label Refunkt and was our powerplay as well). The song is classic in the meaning of stateside garage, we miss that music since the end of big times of garage scene in 90s.

Room 5 "Make Luv" (Sound Division/Positiva)
This sample track was made by Junior Jack and Olivier Cheatham already in the beginning of the year and appeared on one-sided promo form Italian label Sound Division. We love this track, that contains two classic themes, that in the late 90s existed separately as a song and track. It goes: "Make love and listen to the music"!

G-Club presents Bando Sonora “Pressure Coocker” (Guitarra G Remix) (Defected)
Gerald Elms bring another fantastic tune from his project Bando Sonora on it's home lable Defected Records. Hopefully more mixes to come, because this tune as previous "Guitarra G" has already gets a contemporary classic. More harder mixes form Lab Rats on original release for active dancefloors.

Stephane Malca “Revolution” (Alex Neri’s Remix) (Pro-Zak Trax)
We've been looking for that record since it appeared on DJ Yousef's mix-cd in Muzik magazine in year 2000. Now this is released again on french label's Pro-Zak double compilation "Complitrax", so we're happy!!!

Simon Garcia & Karim Shaker "Central Park/Sunday@Mambo" (Beatfreak)
The 12'' is great on the both sides, we suppose it is double A-Side. In the show we're playing Central Park very saxxy and percussive groover, Sunday@Mambo using beatiful fluite and very similar to first track drums and percussions.

Africanism "Balearic" (Yellow)
There was only few Africanism releases, that haven't been powerplays in the show. Another one french plastic is very important to us. Produced by Diva "Balearic" are perfect illustration for this windy and wet autumn. Lovely cut with a touch of progressive sound.

Deep Sensation "Stay A While" (Junior)
Paul Hunter and Colin Gate are two people behind Deep Sensation, the project that made a very different records for the last years. In 2001 we've been playing their vocal anthem "Somehow Somwhere" on Fluential, this time Deep Sensation brings beautiful, deep and a little bit depressive record. Quality piece of deep-house!

Original Soulboy feat Monica Vasconelos “High On Sunshine” (Club Mix) (Dadhouse)
Original Soulboy's 4th single release on Dadhouse label, they return with a pumping main room latin track "High On Sunshine", which features the silky brazilian vocals of Monica Vasconselos. Following on from last years "Touch the Sun", which have been signed to countless compilations.

Onionz & Master D "It Won't Hurt You" (Shaboom)
This US crew have released a lot of tracks during the year 2002, and one of the best, that really makes tha dancefloors in Riga dancing is this one.

Amillionsons "Misti Blu" (Magik J Vocal Mix) (London)
Another powerplay remixed by our man of the moment Magik J - Dick Johnson from Shaboom project and label. You can uplift any dancefloor with that groovy record with quite simple, but funky bass-line. It goes: I am misti blu, when I look at you...

Mos:co "Mos:co Boogie" (Mos:co)
We know that this record had a huge plays by Danny Rampling - the biggest soulful DJ in Europe. We love that real song a lot, it have a classic stateside garage mood.

DJ Linus "Who Stole The Soul" (Usual Suspects Remix) (BR Traxx)
Coming from french label of David Duries Brique Rouge, single from DJ Linus telling a story what the underground electronic and soulful music is. Remix done by the Brique Rouge's own Usual Suspects - David Duries and Phil Weeks, and uses vocals by German Kamillion. Tasty cut for smart dance-floors.

Simon Grey "One" (Knee Deep Remix) (ROI)
Another soulful and vocal production from Knee Deep brothers form Germany. Try to guess: is there male or female vocals!

Ian Pooley & Magik J "Piha" (Honchos Music)
Ian Pooley, master of the tech-house, together with Magik Johnson from Shaboom has produced another tune, real authentic anthem for this summer, that we awaited for since Pete Heller's "Big Love". This also makes you smile, when you hear ir at home, and make you dance and happy on the dancefloor.

Blaze "Breathe" (Slip'n'Slide)
This should be a first single from the forthcoming Blaze album called "Spiritually Speaking", but the label decided to put "Do You Remember House" first. So it comes later, and we could say the song is fantastic. It have the original 70's feeling, not only because Philip Bailey's (Earth, Wind & Fire) voice appeared on the record... We suppose the song have best lyrics for contemporary soulful dance music.

Sandy Rivera "I Can't Stop" (Aurei)
Very simple and catchy tune indeed. For the energetic deep-house parties. We called it 'Paul Johnsons Get Get Down' of this summer. Huge on the dancefloors!

Rodamaal "Love Island" (Original Mix) (Jazz Up)
This is a fantastic deep-house record! Usually powerplays are more uplifting, but the quality of the track is undoubtley gives it a chance to be the main single of the week. We love that!

Royksopp "Remind Me" (Cosmos Remix) (Wall Of Sound)

DJ Chus presents The Groove Foundation "That Feeling" (Defected)
The record comes from one of the big guests of the Baltic's - spanish and internationally known DJ Chus. The original version of the track is tipical for instrumental jazzy-house records, but it definitely work well on the dancefloors. It have fantastic spoken refren "we gotta return that feeling". Doublepack contains 4 mixes, that are suitable for very different gigs.

Mambana "No Reason" (Axwell's Club Mix) (Soulfuric)
It continues the golden period for the American Soulfuric stabe, confirmed as one among the very limited American labels not only appreciated by the most prestigious exponents of the club circuit but also by the international broadcast networks that seem to appreciate more and more every releases offered by the artists that usually collaborate with the good team. Last episode in order of time is "No Reason", passage produced by Mambana alreday mucj in demand after the ample consents received during the recent W.M.C. 2002. The full package, soon officialy available, contains four different elaborations, all taken care by the young Swedish producer Axwell and all of valuable invoice: a solar "Axwell Vocal Mix" that exalts in exceptional way the vocal dowries of Isabel Fructuoso, singer of sure talent and style, a profit and percussive "Bonus Beats", a warmest and groovin' "Axwell Dub Mix" and a refined "Reprise Mix", all united from an excellent musicality and from a sensual vocal riff of immediate impact. Massive! by Matteo Esse

Cosmos "Take Me With You" (White Label)
Another summer production from legendary Tom Middleton under his Cosmos alias. The tune is beautiful and very untipical fro contemporary dance electronic music, it is between house and trance, very different stules of music. Mr. Middleton found the way to connect theses styles without using standarts of progressive house.

The Streets "Weak Become Heroes" (Ashley Beedle's Love Bug Remix) (176/Locked On)
Our respect to all the artists, who were mentioned in the track and to Ashley Beedle of course too! This is epic remix for histroy of house music.

Different Gear "A Little Bit Paranoid" (City Rockers)
We called it the follow up for X-Press 2' "Lazy": once again about our lives. Theme of paranoia is very popular in electronic music. Remember William Orbit's "My Best Friend Paranoia"? This sounds cool for contemporary house scene.

E-Man "Caves Of Altimira" (Michael Moog Dub) (Nervous)
There's not so many instrumental records, that are suitable for the playing on the radio and club-playing. Nervous Records out of New York brings release of E-Man's "Caves Of Altimira" with just awesome dub by Michael Moog.

Master At Work feat India "Backfired" (Joey Negro Remix) (MAW)
What's happening when three legendary soulful producers working together? We call it an anthem. Even India's vocal is old-fashioned, the song is soulful enough for the summer, and it has that Joey Negro's flowing-disco feel.

Carino "Kassai" (DadHouse)
Hacienda classic from 1987, was supported by any of big house dj's you ever can imagine. Groovy piano, superb latin percussion, and the melody - just great!

Tim Deluxe featuring Sam Obernik "It Just Won't Do" (Underwater)
It comes from man of the moment, how they call Mr. Deluxe on the radio in the UK. He made few top remixes available on promo at the moment for Low Fidelity Allstars and others. And this is forthcoming summer "hands in the air" anthem.

16th Element "Well Strung" (Viscious Vinyl/ Subliminal/ Loaded)
Pioneered on the world radio by Mr. Danny Rampling, in the beginning after releasing in Australia it was our favourite. Now the double-single with the new this years Miami anthem "Warp" released as a doublepack on Subliminal and on Loaded in Europe. Superb!

Shakedown "At Night" (Kid Creme Funksta Mix) (Defected)
Frenchy bass-line is the main driving thing in this new Kid Creme remix of the Adeva and Steven Mandrax' classic tune.

Copyright presents One Track Mind "Good For You" (Soulfuric)
The UK trio, that already had released a single on Soulfuric Trax "Where Would You Be". Now here's the traditional for Copyright and Soulfuric indeed sound of "Good For You". The release contains a groovy dub for energetic dancefloors.

Jonnie Polyester “If You Want Me” (Mark Knight Club Dub) (BlackBooty)
Originally released in 1981 and featuring the vocals of Barbara Roy, ‘If You Want Me’ suffered from the backlash of the ‘Disco Sucks’ movement in the USA. As a result a track, which would have certainly made top 10 at the time of ‘Saturday Night Fever’ two years earlier was never fully appreciated by a wider audience. For all lovers of disco, Jonnie Polyester presents his updated and re – arranged mix of a lost classic along with a club remix from Mark Knight (K&M). Jonnie discovered the track thanks to good friend and Disco-House Don Dave Lee a.k.a Joey Negro (Jakatta, Raven Maize et al).

Barrio Brothers feat Onionz & Joeski “Editz 4 Daze” (Shaboom)
Onionz & Joeski done the new track under their alias Barrio Bros - it sounds not like previous single, it was highly supported by likes of Yousef, it's just funky as we need!

Dance Freak "The Prayer" (Original Gospel Mix) (Afro Art)
Luke Howard and Marc Woolfords second offering as disco hedonists Dance Freak and it's a string laden percussive vocal monster with the Lurleen Lewis's vocals. It sounds very positive and sunny for us.

The Lab Rats "Take Me In Your Arms (Tonight)" (Dub Mix) (White)
Third already production from ATFC and Warren Clarke coming out on their own Onephatdeeva/white label in London. This is the philly disco remake of Teddy Pendegrass classic track. We've chosen the dub mix, that is HUGE on the dancefloors.

Pink Coffee "Another Brick In The Wall" (White)
Talkin' Heads has already made a club cut last year "Once In The Lifetime", thanks to Liquid People. So now it's time for another rock-classic band - Pink Floyd. This track have already been available via Internet for a year, now Itlaian 909 record company give a full release to the track.

The Pound Boys Express "Betty" (Look At You)
Another quality cut from the States: Pound Boys @ Look At You. With the funny guitar and voice samples. Funky.

Ron Carroll presents RC Project "Brighter Day" (Riviera)
New track from Carroll's RC Project uses the classy disco samples and soulful and positive lyrics from man himself. Groovy!

Grant Nelson "Free" (Swing City)
The first instalment of feel-good summer flavas from Grant Nelson. This is fresh and uplifting, with a tough, yet funky bassline, buliding up to fusion of brass and piano rifts which take it to the next level.

Harry Morse Project "I'm On Fire" (HMP Mix) (Big Wave)
New single from Harry Morse Project is all about jazzy-house. Smoothe male vocal, plus all the live instruments - we just love that business.

Georgie Porgie "Love Will Save The Day" (Vinyl Soul)
New production from young and talented Chicago artist Georgie Porgie, who already has given us positive anthem "Life Goes On" last year. This is uplifting garage track, made in Chicago tradition with a very funky guitar sample. Essential for happy dance-floors.

Denver "Never Give Up" (Chus & Ceballos Vocal Remix) (Stereo Productions)
Chus & Ceballos has given another life to this song. They made it, as we say, with spanish touch - it sounds progressive, but housie indeed because of touching vocal and that percussive line.

Dave Strom feat Charlie C "Ride" (Ceremony)
If you don't know, you even couldn't say, that this production is out of Baltic's, from Estonia. This melodic male-garage cut comes from Estonian finest Dave Strom - dj and producer.

Africanism "Macumba Walele" (Yellow)
This time Mr. Bob Sinclar has worked with another french producer Bibi. It sounds very happy according to previous deep cuts from Africanism project. Here horns sounds nice with the saxophone, and the Hornappella is essential DJ tool!

Marvin Springer "Lies" (Basement Boys)
A classic cut already, it was released in 1999, and we get it from mysterious record-shop in London from the stock actually... Where's Marvin Springer now? We need his voice again!
